Designer Glasses - Way cheaper than on the High Street! Where I got my Bargain

Hi guys! Long time no see... I know, I suck at this. Finding the time to be a blogger is so bloody hard, but I do love it and I want to continue, so thank you to everyone for being patient :)

So, this post today is about spectacles, for the purpose of seeing. I never wore glasses until I started working full time in front of a computer screen and realised I spent a lot of the time squinting and getting really bad headaches. So I went to the opticians and found out I have astigmatism, which is a posh way of saying I can't focus very well. Much less dramatic than my initial self-diagnosis that my headaches were an indication of my imminent death.

After the elation of realising I wasn't going to die had worn off, I was quite upset that I needed glasses, because the shape of my nose (I have a big shnozz) makes it hard for me to find frames that look alright on me. At least I'm a hat person...>__>

Anyway, I went and got my glasses from SpecSavers, they didn't have much choice, but I knew I needed a pair that suited my face. I ended up with those Harry Potter style ones, and people at work began to think I was an old lady. The glasses were bloomin' expensive so I carried on wearing them because they cured my headaches, and who gives a shit about what people think (OK- I do a bit).

One day I was in Vision Express on Oxford street, and was arduously trying on every single pair in the hope I would find some that suited me a bit better and were actually nice (I knew I needed a stronger prescription soon, so I took the opportunity to find a nicer pair.)

Low and behold, the most expensive pair in the shop was a perfect match. Much to my dismay they came with a whopping price tag, over the £300 mark. I went home to contemplate the purchase, it's a lot of money for something I don't actually like wearing to begin with! But I considered that I would wear them every day and the cost per wear would be kind of alright.

Then I thought, I'll search the web seeing as I had already had the guts to leave the shop, and nowadays who makes a massive purchase without finding the best price first.

I bloody found them online did't I...£155!!!!!!! Prescription lenses included!!! I was so pleased with myself. My lesson to you all is: go in Vision Express to try on the glasses, and then buy them online. I got mine from Pretavoir. I think Vision Express actually do a price match, so I could have gotten the glasses in there if I wanted to, but once I found Pretavoir, I wanted to purchase them from there. They have excellent customer service and delivery was super quick and free! I have some pictures of my glasses below if you want to have a browse :)

Let me know if you have had a similar experience to this in the comments!

P.S obviously this is not sponsored because a) I would have told you to begin with and b) I am a Noob

Love,
Scamp
